Diesel engines were
designed
to run on Vegetable Oil. Modern diesel engines, however, have fuel systems
designed to spray fuel that is much thinner than vegetable oil.
Trying
to spray unheated vegetable oil through an injector designed for diesel is similar
to trying to spray maple syrup through a Windex bottle. An improper
spray pattern will result in incomplete burning of the fuel. This in turn will
result in carbon deposits being formed in the engine which will over time destroy
the engine.
Diesel Alternatives: Bio-Diesel,
Modified Injectors calibrated for vegetable
oil thickness, or on board
Vehicle pre-heating of the
vegetable oil to lower its viscosity.

The simplest of these solutions is to heat it up. As you
can see from the information presented in the graph, when vegetable oil
has been heated to 160F its viscosity is very close to that of petroleum
diesel.
The SoyCar answer is to sell and install kits that heat the vegetable
oil up.
It's really that simple! |
